Each November, our studio transforms into a cosy winter dream. Glittering lights, golden tones, and soft textures fill every corner, ready to welcome families from across Yorkshire. For the past five years, Christmas Sessions in Yorkshire at Calini Weddings has become more than a photography project It’s a tradition built on joy, creativity, and connection.

Back in 2020, I decided to create something that would bring warmth and celebration to families when the world felt uncertain. That first year was absolutely beautiful. Two Christmas trees, multiple string of fairy lights, and a lot of heart. This is when something magical happened: families loved it. They laughed, played, and shared stories in front of the camera. Many of them have returned every year since, watching their children grow through a series of festive portraits that tell their story better than words ever could.
Today, our Christmas photo sessions in Yorkshire have evolved into a full-scale studio experience. Each season I design a new set that blends fine-art elegance with the comfort of home – soft golds, muted blush, frosted trees, and warm glowing lights. It’s about creating a space that feels festive yet timeless, perfect for families who value both style and authenticity.

When families arrive, the atmosphere is relaxed and welcoming. I start each session with classic portraits – the kind of photographs that grandparents love to frame and display year after year. Then, we let go of the poses. Parents play with their children, tickle them, toss them into giggles, and simply enjoy the moment. Those unscripted bursts of laughter are where the magic really lives.
Every detail matters: the placement of a candle, the sparkle in a child’s eyes, the way the light falls across a family hug. That’s the heart of what happens behind the scenes of our Christmas photo sessions in Yorkshire. It’s a blend of creative direction and pure emotion.
I often set up small scenes that tell a story: children reading a Christmas book under the tree while their parents share a quiet smile; siblings unwrapping gifts together; families in matching pajamas sipping hot cocoa. It’s a mix of storytelling and artistry, where every frame becomes part of your family’s holiday memory.

This year, I wanted to give something back to the families who make these sessions so special. Every client receives a £30 studio credit that can be used toward fine-art canvas, metallic or acrylic wall prints, or a bespoke photo album. Many families use it to create something tangible – a piece of art that lives beyond the screen, something to treasure every Christmas.
The credit is valid only for our festive season and until 31 December 2025, a little incentive to celebrate the season while it’s here. It’s my way of saying thank you to everyone who has supported Calini Weddings through the years – and a warm welcome to new families joining us for the first time.

The studio this year feels like stepping into a modern fairy-tale. The colour palette is soft and elegant — ivory, champagne gold, and touches of blush. A tall Christmas tree sparkles in the corner, surrounded by wrapped gifts and gentle twinkle lights. Cozy throws, candles, and a fury armchair invite families to settle in. The overall design is intentionally neutral so your outfits and expressions become the true focus.
Parents often tell me that the space makes them feel calm, even with energetic little ones running around. That’s exactly the goal – a stress-free environment where joy flows naturally. By the end of the session, most families forget about the camera entirely.

Photographs are more than images; they’re evidence of love, growth, and belonging. I believe every family deserves portraits that feel real – where you can almost hear the laughter or sense the warmth of the moment. My Christmas photo sessions in Yorkshire are designed to capture that feeling. Whether it’s your baby’s first Christmas or your tenth year returning, each image becomes part of your family story.
There’s a special rhythm that happens during these sessions. Children run toward the lights, parents exchange glances, and for a moment the entire world feels wrapped in gold. That’s what I strive for – not perfection, but presence.

People often ask what inspires me most about photographing families. The answer is simple: connection. Every family brings a different energy to the studio. Some are quiet and tender, others loud and playful – and all of them are beautiful. My job is to read that energy and translate it into art.
That’s what keeps me passionate about the work that happens behind the scenes of our Christmas photo sessions in Yorkshire — finding the honest, joyful details that make each family unique.

Whether you’ve visited us before or you’re planning your first festive shoot, I’d love to welcome you into our studio this season. Sessions run from 14 November to 14 December in BD10, West Yorkshire, and spaces always fill quickly.
