Palma de Mallorca holds a special place in my heart. This was my third visit to this beautiful city as a Mallorca wedding photographer. Every time I come here, it feels like home. Over the years, I’ve fallen in love with its beauty, for that reason, now I even have my favourite spots that I never miss. But this time, I discovered a gem that deserves a spotlight. In other words, I have discovered my favourite wedding venue from Mallorca: Castillo Hotel Son Vida.
This luxurious castle is a dream venue for a wedding. It’s not just stunning, above all, it’s iconic. Did you know that the British royal family and many celebrities have stayed here? As a Mallorca wedding photographer, I couldn’t have asked for a more picturesque and inspiring location to work my magic in additon to all the other mesmerising corners of the island.
Castillo Hotel Son Vida is nothing short of breathtaking. However, beeing Nestled on a hill, this 13th-century castle offers a peaceful and private atmosphere. The moment you step onto its grounds, you’re greeted by the serene vibe of a luxurious retreat. Despite its quiet setting, it’s only a short drive from the bustling center of Palma.
From its outdoor gardens, you can see the sea in the distance. The view is spectacular, especially at sunset. In additon to the wonderful gardens there is also a golf course, adding to the elegance of the surroundings. What a great way to start your day, and after that you can enjoy the waves on the beach of Palma.
Inside the castle, the architecture is stunning and inspiring. Similarly, the high-ceilinged arches, grand corridors, and opulent rooms transport you to another era. The attention to detail in every corner and especially the ceiling makes it a paradise for architectural photography. Each space has a story to tell, and I made sure to capture all of that. From the detailed designs on the walls to the rich greenery of the gardens outside. This venue is truly a treasure for any Mallorca wedding photographer.
This stunning venue was chosen by the bride above all the other venues. That being the case, Nadia had a very personal reason. She had attended a party here and instantly fell in love with the place. Trust me, after all, my experience here was unbelievable and I totally understand why. When it came time to plan her wedding with Misha, there was no other choice. Castillo Hotel Son Vida was the perfect setting for their dream day.
From the moment I met Nadia and Misha, I knew this was going to be a special experience. They’re such a warm and loving couple, and for this reasonm I knew that their energy will make every moment memorable. Their excitement and gratefulness for having their wedding here were contagious. After all, as a Mallorca wedding photographer, I couldn’t have been more excited to capture their unique love story.
The beauty of Castillo Hotel Son Vida is endless. As a wedding photographer, I had the privilege of working with every perfect backdrop, one after another as this superb location has a lot to offer. In fact I had experimented with:
Nadia and Misha were incredible to work with and so easy going. They trusted my vision, which allowed me to push creative boundaries. We explored every corner of the castle, from the gardens to the grand halls, making the most of its timeless elegance. This experience reaffirmed why being a Mallorca wedding photographer is such a rewarding journey and nothing compares to it.
Once we wrapped up the photo session at Castillo Hotel Son Vida, we set off on an adventure through Palma’s streets. Our first stop? The iconic Palma Cathedral. This Gothic masterpiece is one of the most stunning landmarks in the city. It is very hard to miss. Situated next to a saltwater lake, the reflections were magical, especially as the sun began to set, feeling its touch all over.
I captured Nadia and Misha with the grand cathedral as their backdrop. The golden light of the sunset bathed everything in a warm glow, creating images that were nothing short of epic. As we got closer to the cathedral, we were serenaded by street performers. Their music filled the air with joy and in the moment, Nadia and Misha started to dance. It was pure magic—the kind of scene you dream of capturing as a Mallorca wedding photographer.
Our next stop was Parc de la Mar, a nearby park that added a playful touch to the day. Here, Misha popped a bottle of champagne, and Nadia’s joyful energy was infectious. She jumped around like a kid, while Misha playfully splashed the champagne. The laughter and spontaneity of this moment made for some of my favorite shots of the day.
To end the evening, we incorporated a bit of tradition as it was very hard to pass such a moment. Believing that shattered glass brings good luck, Nadia and Misha crossed a pedestrian crossing with champagne glasses in hand. Right in the middle, while the time of the green light was ticking down, they toasted and shattered their glasses with a cheer. People around us started to cheer and congratulate our groom and bride. The scene was cinematic, with the city lights twinkling around them. It’s moments like these that make me so grateful to be a Mallorca wedding photographer.
Palma de Mallorca is more than just a destination; it’s an experience. From the historic Castillo Hotel Son Vida to the vibrant streets of the city, every corner offers a unique charm.
